SLA Rapid Prototyping is widely
used in the automotive, aerospace, consumer
products and the medical industries with the
possible applications being virtually endless.
The primary use of Rapid
Prototyping is to quickly make prototypes for
testing & communication and is especially
important in this age of concurrent engineering.
One of the ways Matrix
Enterprises makes Rapid Prototypes is by:
Stereolithography : SLA :
(Stereolithography Apparatus) is a solid imaging
process, which produces a physical, 3
dimensional object from a 3D CAD file. By using
our in-house SLA 250 machine by 3-D Systems,
your prototypes are ?grown? from a vat of
photosensitive polymers that solidify when a
highly focused UV laser draws the part layer by
layer.
These parts are extremely
accurate, generally built within a matter of
hours or days, and are quite durable. They can
be used for concept model form and fit, can be
finished and painted for use as a photo model,
can be used to check CAD accuracy before tool
cutting for injection tooling or as masters for
RTV molding which in turn is used for multiple
castings.
